What if your smoothie tasted so good that you’d gladly enjoy one for dessert . . . but it was actually loaded with superfood? Well, wonder no more! This smoothie is tastier than a slice of 1970s era Black Forest Cake, but will power you up with the goodness of cherries, cocoa, and chia.

I enjoy dairy in this smoothie, but it works just as well with dairy alternatives. This smoothie is gently sweet with no additional sweetener. I use stevia in mine to boost the sweetness with no added sugar. So if winter weather has you less than motivated to get out there, just have one of these for breakfast and you’ll be ready to go. Enjoy!
Cocoa Cherry Smoothie
(makes one large smoothie)
1 heaping cup frozen pitted sweet cherries
1 cup milk (dairy or non dairy)
1 TB unsweetened cocoa powder
1 TB chia seed
dash vanilla
(optional) sweetener*
Whirl all ingredients until smooth in a blender. Serve, and enjoy.
*I enjoy stevia as a sweetener. It has no added sugar, tastes good, and is safe.
